Aaron A. Ferguson
(November 4, 1911 - August 9, 2010)

Aaron Andries Ferguson, age 98, of Natchitoches, LA, passed away Monday, August 9, 2010, at Courtyard of Natchitoches in Natchitoches, LA. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA with Father James Foster officiating. Visitation will be held form 5:00 until 8:00 on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with a 6:00 Rosary.

Aaron was a native of Natchitoches. He was better known as “The Bicycle Man”, as repairing bicycles was his greatest hobby after retirement. He served in the National Guard from 1935 to 1938, was an ambulance driver seventeen years for Blanchard Funeral Home, and eight years with First National Funeral Home. He also worked for Millspaugh Drug Store, was a security guard at County Pride, and worked at Natchitoches City Hall from 1970 to 1978.

Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Marguerite Lecompt Ferguson; two grandsons, James Benjamin Nolley Jr. and Aaron Todd Nolley; one brother, Mose C. Ferguson; sisters Emily Ferguson, Louise Ferguson, Geneva Ferguson, and Mary Odeal Stephens; and his parents, Aaron Brevelle Ferguson and Celine Bussie Ferguson.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Margaret Nolley and husband, Benny Nolley of Natchitoches; and one brother, Emmet Paul Ferguson of Natchitoches.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Ferguson, Kelly Ferguson, Andy Ferguson, Buddy Maggio, Dr. Chris Ingram, and Gary Nolley.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. John P. Harris; to Dr. Chris Ingram, who has been a special friend of Aaron since he was a child; the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center Nursing staff; and Hospice of Natchitoches for all of their special care.
